Commonly Asked Questions

Boram At Home is our in-home postpartum care program designed to provide expert support for families in the comfort of their own homes. Our trained Care Professionals offer personalized, one-on-one care, helping new parents navigate newborn care, postpartum recovery, and the transition into daily life with a baby.

In addition to holding one (or both!) of the following certifications, all of our Care Professionals have gone through Boram’s interview and training processes and have passed background and reference checks.

  • Certified Postpartum Doulas: Day sessions (minimum 4 hours, starting at 8 a.m.) and night sessions (minimum 8 hours, starting at 10 p.m.) with a focus on lactation and recovery support.
  • Newborn Care Specialists: Minimum 12-hour sessions, available day and/or night, focused on baby care.

Before booking any sessions, we have everyone fill out our Postpartum Care Planner, which includes questions about your location, birth details, budget, feeding preferences, and relevant background information. From the answers provided, we create a recommended Care Plan that can then be adjusted with or without help from a member of our care team.

We understand that birth and postpartum don’t always go according to plan. That’s why we’ve designed our cancellation and rescheduling policies with care, striving to keep things fair and flexible for both the families we support and the professionals in our network.

For Cancellations:

  • Cancellations due to serious health concerns or loss of life are accepted without penalty. Please notify us as soon as possible. If your baby is admitted to the NICU, we offer a full refund or can reschedule your sessions.
  • Cancel 30 Days or More in Advance:
No penalty. You will not be charged for sessions cancelled at least 30 days before the scheduled date.
  • Cancel Within 30 Days:
If you cancel a session less than 30 days, but more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, you will be charged 50% of the session cost.
  • Cancel Within 24 Hours: If you cancel a session less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, you will be charged the full cost (100%) of the session.

After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to pause Boram Postnatal Retreat and transition to our new care model: Boram At Home.

This was not an easy choice, but the rising operational demands of the retreat have made it difficult for us to follow our mission, to make postpartum care essential. With Boram At Home, we can increase access to expert postpartum support and ensure more families receive the care they need.
